Comforting Touch for Babies empowers and educates parents and caregivers
in the use of infant massage to
enhance bonding, relaxation and healthy development.

Comforting Touch for Babies

Research and anecdotal experiences have shown numerous benefits of infant massage including:

  • Improved sleep for babies and caregivers
  • Relief for constipation, gas, and colic
  • Enhanced neurological development
  • Increased paternal bonding
  • Decreased postpartum depression
  • And more.

Comforting Touch for Babies will give you the tools and confidence you need to practice and reap the positive short and long-term benefits of nurturing touch and baby massage.

What are Comforting Touch for Babies classes like?

Besides fun and educational!?
Comforting Touch for Babies is offered as a 1-hour virtual class in which you will cumulatively learn how to give a relaxing full body baby massage in addition to specific techniques to relieve common discomforts such as gas and teething.
Who should attend Comforting Touch for Babies classes?

The short answer is simple; families who love their children! Classes are perfect for parents of any kind; moms, dads, adoptive parents, grandparents, expectant parents and any approved caregiver who wants to learn infant massage. Baby comes with you! Infants from 3 weeks to pre-crawling are welcome in the company of up to 1 additional caregiver at no extra cost. Come as you are, whether baby is smiley and happy, sleeping, "fussy", breastfed, bottle fed, or still in-utero. Expectant parents are also welcome to participate in preparation and anticipation of the arrival of their little one(s). You will practice on dolls provided in class. Are you looking for a fun and meaningful way to foster healthy bonding and attachment with your baby?

Picture
Yiska is an expert doula, massage therapist, and licensed acupuncturist. She is also a  beloved long-time Manhattan Birth instructor in our Comprehensive Childbirth Class where she teaches Comforting Touch for Birth to our deeply grateful pregnant students.

With Comforting Touch for Birth she turned what she knew with her hands into a comprehensive curriculum for doulas and expectant parents. She figured out how to make the confidence, skill, and ease she possesses accessible to any provider of labor support, be that doula or partner, regardless of experience level.

Now, in support of families postpartum as well Yiska has completed an infant massage teacher training and added Comforting Touch for Babies classes to her repertoire; now offering parents and loving caregivers new ways to nurture, soothe, and bond with their infants.

Yiska is an Internationally Certified Infant Massage Teacher (CIMT) trained to educate and empower you in a variety of techniques of nurturing touch and well as facilitating conversations on the science of touch, recognizing baby's cues, behavioral states, communication, development, and more.
